12TH All Pakistan Inter Colleges/Universities Computer Project Exhibition & Competition An annual event in its 12th year, COMPPEC has been hosted by the Department of Computer Engineering, College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NUST).

Project

Competition

The Project Competition provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to share innovative ideas. The project competition is categorized based on academic and industrial demands. These categories cover almost all aspects of computer engineering and science, but they are not rigidly defined and they only serve as a guideline for evaluation. The winners in each category are awarded different cash prizes; details of which are mentioned below.

Electro Mechanical

Systems:

Electro Mechanical Systems has two following categories:
1) Robotics
2) Embedded System
Prizes in Each Category:
1st Prize: Rs. 40,000
2nd Prize: Rs. 20,000
3rd Prize: Rs 10,000
Overall Best Project: Rs. 50,000


Information

Systems:

Informtaion Systems has four categories:
1) Software utility
2) Software application
3) Work flow automation
4) Gaming
Prizes in Each Category:
1st Prize: Rs. 40,000
2nd Prize: Rs. 20,000
3rd Prize: Rs 10,000
Overall Best Project: Rs. 50,000


Communication

Systems:

Communication systems has three following categories:
1) Telecommunication
2) Computer networks
3) Mobile systems

Research

Competition

The Research Competition gives researchers a platform to share their work with researchers from all over Pakistan. Among all the researchers competition in this competition the top five will be awarded cash prizes. Departing from the regular format, there are no categories here in particular, however researchers are expected to infer fields of research from the categories mentioned for the project competition.

Innovative

Research:

Research plays an active role in advancing the intellectual frontiers of computer science, creating new computer technology, and applying that technology to meet the needs of today's technological society. It share ideas with the broader community, not only through scholarly publication, but also by creating systems that can be used by others and can serve as models for commercial development. Like areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Computational Science, Computer and Systems Architecture, Media And Machines, Networking and Communication, Software Systems and Computer Engineering. Thus keeping all this mind we made research part of COMPPEC this year.
